Overview
EhudAI is an AI-native platform for filmmakers and storytellers. Writers bring a screenplay or an idea, and the platform helps them develop it into characters, moodboards, shot lists, images, and video.
You'd join a small, senior engineering team as the dedicated owner of our web application — the surface where nearly all of that creative work happens. It's a role with unusually large scope: you set the direction, the architecture, and the quality bar for the product our users touch every day.
What you'll be working on
- Owning our Next.js application end to end — architecture, code review, and the standard we hold ourselves to
- Building and refining the creative tools at the heart of the product: image, video, moodboard, and cinematic generation
- Designing interfaces for long-running, asynchronous work — generation jobs run from seconds to many minutes, and making that feel trustworthy is one of the most interesting problems we have
- Partnering closely with a product designer to raise the craft of the whole experience
- Strengthening our front-end testing and continuous integration practice as the team grows
- Working across the boundary into our Python backend when a feature calls for it
Who we're looking for
- 5+ years building production web applications, with deep React experience
- Strong TypeScript — you reach for the type system to prevent bugs, not to satisfy a linter
- Real experience with asynchronous, long-running operations in a UI: polling, optimistic state, progress reporting, cancellation, and partial failure
- Comfortable in a Python backend — able to trace an issue across the API boundary and fix it rather than hand it off
- You test your own work and can make a clear case for what deserves a test and what doesn't
- You've raised quality in a growing codebase incrementally, without halting feature work
- A genuine eye for design, and the confidence to hold your own in a conversation with a designer
Nice to have: canvas or graphics work, experience integrating third-party AI APIs, and a background in creative or media tooling.
You do not need a machine learning background. We integrate models; we don't train them.
Our tech stack
- Frontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js, TailwindCSS, Radix UI, Konva
- Backend: Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Celery
- Data: PostgreSQL, Redis
- AI: LangChain, LangGraph, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, and a range of image and video model providers
- Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions
- Payments: Stripe, Chapa
You won't have touched all of it, and that's expected. We care that you're strong in the front-end core and curious about the rest.
Why should you work at EhudAI?
- You'd own an entire surface area outright, from day one, with no layers between you and the decision
- The problems are genuinely hard — asynchronous generation, creative tooling, and interfaces for systems that are inherently uncertain
- You'd be one of a handful of people, so your work ships in weeks and reaches users immediately
- We're building for creative professionals with real taste, which sets a high and satisfying bar
- Meaningful early-stage equity alongside a competitive salary
- A small, senior team that treats engineering judgement as the thing worth hiring for
How to apply
Write to hello@ehudai.com. Include something you've built where the asynchronous or real-time behaviour was the hard part, and tell us what made it hard.
